City of Rock Valley issued the following announcement on Oct. 3.
The department is asking for your help with raising funds to begin our first narcotics identifying K-9 Unit. With the addition of a trained and nationally certified narcotics and tracking police service dog to our department, we feel that we can continue to make Rock Valley a safe place to live and raise a family. A new K-9 will be able to assist officers in the following areas: locating narcotics in vehicles and building searches, tracking both criminals and other that are lost and in danger, and for informational programs that help build community relations.
With the above in mind we ask for your financial support. Any donation amounts are appreciated. Donations can be made in any manner and checks should be made out to the Rock Valley Police Department K-9 Fund. Make sure to include your name and address to ensure a receipt is returned to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Rock Valley Police Department at (712) 476-5716.
Thank you in advance for your support. Together we can make a difference.
