CITY OF SIOUX CENTER: Planned Sale of Land to AgriVision Approved

Contract02

City of Sioux Center issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

A John Deere equipment dealer is moving toward building a large implement dealership in northern Sioux Center.

This week the Sioux Center City Council completed a final step to approve the sale of approximately 15 acres of city-owned property along the north end of Highway 75 in Sioux Center to AgriVision for this development.

AgriVision Equipment representatives announced in early November 2019 the plans to build a state-of-the-art dealership and create high-quality jobs in Sioux Center. They had worked with Sioux Center planners to identify the potential site for the development, which is slated to be the company’s largest dealership.

“This 15 acres of undeveloped land is currently owned by the City of Sioux Center. Because it is located adjacent to Highway 75, easily accessible with high visibility, the site is an ideal site for an implement dealership,” said Sioux Center Development Director Dennis Dokter. “During 2020 additional street and utility infrastructure will be installed to better serve this site and Sioux Center’s existing Highway Commercial Park.”

Construction on the AgriVision dealership is projected to begin this spring. Plans call for the facility to be large enough to house 30 technicians and include overhead cranes, large storage for combine/forage harvesters, an expanded parts inventory, a wash bay, and training facilities. The new location is anticipated to employ 30-50 people.

AgriVision Equipment Group is a 17-location John Deere ag, turf, commercial application and commercial worksite products dealer employing 450 and serving customers in Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
