Taylor enters state Senate race

Jeff Taylor, professor of political science at Dordt University, is running for the Iowa State Senate. 

Taylor is a pro-life Republican. A native of Spencer, Taylor has submitted paperwork in order to run for state senate seat which is currently held by Sen. Randy Feenstra. 

Feenstra is a colleague of Taylor’s at Dordt. Feenstra is also a Republican. He is challenging Rep. Steve King for King’s seat in Congress in the June Republican primary.

Taylor’s name will appear on the June 2 Republican primary ballot. The District 2 State Senate seat includes Cherokee County, Sioux County, O’Brien County and portions of Plymouth County. Taylor was born and raised in northwest Iowa. He graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, before pursuing graduate studies at the University of Iowa and the University of Missouri.
