CITY OF SIOUX CENTER: New Addition Planned in North Highway Commercial Park

Planning(1000)

City of Sioux Center issued the following announcement on Apr. 14.

The City of Sioux Center is preparing for commercial growth in northern Sioux Center, including the new AgriVision facility planned along Highway 75.

The Sioux Center City Council approved a plat and the plan to install new streets for a new addition in the Highway Commercial Park in northern Sioux Center. The new addition will include about four developable lots, with the primary lot, 15 acres, planned for the new AgriVision implement dealership. The other lots, ranging from 1.5-3 acres, are also zoned highway commercial.

“We’re excited to have AgriVision be the anchor for this area. This whole property lends itself well to visibility and access from Highway 75,” said Sioux Center Development Director Dennis Dokter. “We expect there to be a lot happening in this area in the future.”

Street and utility construction for this new addition on city-owned property should begin late this spring and be done by Nov. 1. The street work will involve creating a segment of 25th Street NE and extending 2nd Avenue NE to that new 25th Street, giving a second access point to this area. It will also include adding a right-turn lane for 25th Street added to northbound Highway 75. Additional utility work will include adding water, storm sewer, and sewer infrastructure.

Dokter said the lots are anticipated to go on the market in late 2020. Additional highway commercial lots are available in the existing Highway Commercial Park.

“We have had strong demand for highway commercial lots as businesses continue to grow, expand, and locate in Sioux Center,” Dokter said.
