Hawarden Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 12.
For residents with an underground sprinkler system, you may want to consider a separate water meter for that system. Sewer bills are calculated off your water consumption. The water usage from a second meter will not count into calculating your sewer usage. Residents will need to have their plumber install the meter at their expense. The City will not charge for the initial meter but will bill a base charge of $10.80 per month plus consumption ($1.89 per 100cf) for the months of May through October.
