The Emmet County Agricultural Show Board has decided to postpone this year’s fair to 2021.
Estherville News reported that board members did not arrive at the decision without considering guidance and best practices from the Association of Iowa Fairs and ISU Extension and Outreach.
Sidney Riemenschneider, County Youth Coordinator for ISU Extension and Outreach, Emmet County, said everyone involved with the event is impacted by the decision.
“ISU Extension and Outreach staff and volunteers are working on adjusting the schedule and making plans to make this happen for our exhibitors,” Riemenschneider told the publication. “We understand this has been a difficult time and we thank our community for understanding and continuing your support. We are excited that we are still able to provide this opportunity for our youth.”
Static judging and livestock shows will be held on a show-and-go basis for 4H and Future Farmers of America exhibitors, the publication reported.
