Cost of college went up for all students at Northwestern College

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at Northwestern College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $31,100 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $900 more than the $30,200 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 281 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.4 million and 199 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,299), 1,015 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21.3 million, and 640 students took out $4.3 million in federal student loans.
