Iowa Lakes Community College issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.
Iowa Lakes Community College and TRIO Talent Search will offer a virtual Free Help with the FAFSA Day on Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 9 am – 12 pm. Area high school seniors and their parents or guardians are encouraged to register today!
“We are excited to offer students and families assistance with completing the FAFSA. Filing your FAFSA application early in the year allows you to be considered for more financial aid opportunities, essentially giving you a greater chance for more money to help pay for college. Many colleges have a FAFSA priority deadline date as early as December 1. Taking care of your FAFSA right away is very beneficial,” explained Trudy Ahrens, TRIO Director at Iowa Lakes.
The Free Help with the FAFSA Day event will provide those seeking to complete the FAFSA for the 2021-2022 academic year with the assistance needed to complete the FAFSA application.
During these virtual sessions, attendees will work with representatives from the Admissions and Financial Aid Departments at Iowa Lakes to complete the FAFSA application and answer questions. Additionally, attendees will receive information on how to complete the Iowa Lakes Scholarship application.
Those interested in attending the Free Help with the FAFSA Day should visit https://www.iowalakes.edu/talentsearchsignup/ to complete the event registration form.
