Gov. Kim Reynolds said Iowans need to monitor what’s going on in their community when asked about the eight Iowa towns that were classified by the White House Task Force as “red zones."

“We really need to focus,” Reynolds said, according to KIWA Radio. “We know that the most vulnerable Iowans are older Iowans age 65 and over and those Iowans with pre-existing conditions are the ones that are most at risk.”

She said the same thing applies today, that applied when the first cases of COVID-19 were discovered.

"Stay home when you’re sick, social distance when you can," Reynolds said. "If you can’t, make sure you have a face covering and wash your hands often."

The White House Taskforce classified the cities of Spencer, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake in far northwest Iowa, as well as Carroll, Council Bluffs, Dubuque, Pella and Sioux City as “red zone” areas.
