Iowa Lakes Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Iowa Lakes Community College and Iowa Wesleyan University (IW) signed an articulation agreement on January 27, 2022. The agreement formalizes a credit transfer program allowing Iowa Lakes students to qualify for coordinated transfer options for IW online bachelor’s degree programs.

“The partnership between Iowa Wesleyan University and Iowa Lakes Community College focuses on students having opportunities to succeed with more tools and options to build a stronger future. Our graduates will be able to transition easily toward a four-year institution where they can complete advanced degrees online,” explained Robert Leifeld, Iowa Lakes’ Vice President of Administration.

The new articulation agreement will allow Iowa Lakes students graduating with an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree to transfer with junior class standing into Bachelor degree programs in IW’s highly ranked and rigorous online programs without leaving their jobs or moving. In addition, Iowa Lakes and IW are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, making transferring credits seamless.

Students graduating with an Associate in Applied Science degree or transferring before completing a degree at Iowa Lakes will have coursework evaluated individually to determine class placement at IW.

IW will also be offering a ten percent discount to students who have completed an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree at Iowa Lakes and transfer into one of IW’s online bachelor’s degree programs.

“I am constantly impressed with the high quality and rigor we see in our Iowa Community Colleges. Few states have the commitment to their community college system as Iowa. Iowa Lakes is one of the outstanding community colleges that shows tremendous dedication to their student body and the region they serve. Iowa Wesleyan is proud to work with Iowa Lakes on this online partnership as both institutions have strong synergy in their programs resulting in a seamless transition,” said DeWayne P. Frazier, Ph.D., University Provost at IW.

This partnership is yet another way that Iowa Lakes goes above and beyond to support students and their future.
