Iowa Lakes Community College announces 2023 Homecoming activities for January 20 through 27. The public, graduates of Iowa Lakes, and area K-12 students are encouraged to show their Laker Pride and watch a swim meet in Emmetsburg on January 21 at noon, a wrestling meet in Estherville on January 26 at 7:00 pm, and basketball games in Estherville on January 25 at 5:30 pm for Women and 7:30 pm for Men.
For Iowa Lakes students, Homecoming will kick off with a dance held in the Smith Wellness Center Gym from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. A valid Iowa Lakes ID is required for admittance.
A Game Night for students will be offered from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on January 23 in the Dining Services Area of the Estherville and Emmetsburg Campuses. On January 24, Zac Tenneboe, a hypnotist, will give a presentation at 7:00 pm in the Estherville Campus gym for Iowa Lakes students.
During the basketball games on January 25, everyone is encouraged to wear black for a “Black-Out” theme. Additionally, Athletic Teams and Music and Band students will be honored. For the wrestling meet on January 26, Estherville Student Senate will provide a tailgate for Iowa Lakes Students.
On January 27, the final night of Homecoming celebrations, students are invited to bowl at the Spencer Bowling Alley from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. The Spencer Student Senate is hosting the bowling event and will pay for all Iowa Lakes students so that they can attend for free.
