(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College has measured enrollment growth for the 2022-2023 academic year, moving the College’s enrollment closer to pre-pandemic figures.

“We are very excited about Iowa Lakes Community College’s future,” said Iowa Lakes President Scott Stokes. “Our enrollment numbers confirm that we are moving in the right direction. We expect our enrollment numbers to grow as we develop new and innovative educational offerings. At Iowa Lakes, we are committed not only to our students but to their futures and the development of our workforce.”

During the Fall 2022 term, Iowa Lakes Community College experienced a 4% increase in headcount and a nearly 9% increase in total credit hours. In addition to increased enrollment, Iowa Lakes has achieved graduation, success, and persistence rates well above state averages, with a graduation rate of 45% (six percentage points higher than the state average) and 77% of students retain enrollment from fall to spring. The overall success rate of Iowa Lakes students is 57%, nearly 10% higher than the state average.

When asked why students choose Iowa Lakes, Kalous shared, “Students like the personalized and hands-on learning environment offered at Iowa Lakes, that they have a name and are not just a number.”

Iowa Lakes has a 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio providing the opportunity for unique and personalized experiences while offering vast access to student support services that help to ensure success.

“Students need to visit us to get a feel for what life is like as a Laker. Iowa Lakes has several group visit days scheduled in addition to the option of individual visits,” explained Kalous.
