The Phi Theta Kappa Chapter at Northwest Iowa Community College is collecting personal hygiene items until Monday, March 13 to benefit low-income families and foster children in Sheldon and surrounding communities.
Backpacks will be put together and distributed at the Sheldon Area Unity Meal at Living Water Community Church on Monday, March 20. Extra backpacks and items will be donated to Kaden’s Kloset.
Donations Needed:
Backpacks (New preferred, gently used will be accepted)
Shampoo Toilet Paper Dish Soap
Body Wash Tissues Laundry Soap
Toothpaste/Toothbrush Deodorant Diapers & Wipes
Socks & Underwear (for kids of all ages)
Please bring your donations to Northwest Iowa Community College, Building A, Front Desk or bins are provided in the front entrance of the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center (LLRC) on the east side of NCC’s campus.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society of the two-year college, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, it is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,285 chapters.
“The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.”
