Rep. Randy Feenstra, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 4th district, has recently taken to social media to share his legislative efforts and meetings on various issues affecting his constituents. Feenstra has been active in promoting initiatives that aim to benefit small businesses, farmers, and address agricultural concerns such as bird flu.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Randy Feenstra announced new legislation aimed at assisting small businesses in providing paid family and medical leave for their employees. In collaboration with other legislators including Senator Fischer and Representative Bice, he emphasized the importance of paid family and medical leave as "a financial lifeline for workers when facing a medical condition or welcoming a newborn." "I just introduced legislation alongside @SenatorFischer, @RepBice, @SenAngusKing, and @RepMGP to help our small businesses offer paid family and medical leave to their employees.

Later that day, Feenstra discussed agricultural policy with Stu Swanson, President of Iowa Corn Growers Association. The conversation focused on the Farm Bill and strategies to open new export markets for farmers while advocating for year-round availability of E15 fuel at gas pumps. He reiterated his commitment by stating "Today, I sat down with the President of @iowa_corn... I’ll always stand with our #IA04 corn growers!"

In another meeting on February 5th, Feenstra addressed avian influenza concerns with J.T. Dean from Versova Management & Center Fresh Group. With over 147 million birds affected by bird flu, Feenstra stressed the need for continued investment in foreign animal disease prevention and response efforts. He highlighted that controlling bird flu could lead to lower egg prices for consumers: "I was glad to talk to J.T. Dean... Combating bird flu means lower egg prices for Americans!"
