Randy Feenstra, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 4th district, has shared a series of tweets highlighting his legislative initiatives and support for local broadcasters. Since replacing Steve King in 2021, Feenstra has been actively involved in various policy areas affecting his constituents.
On March 5, 2025, Feenstra emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities for farm kids to attend college. He stated: "Farm kids deserve the same shot at college as every other kid." To address this, he collaborated with Rep. Mann and House Agriculture GOP Chairman Congressman GT to introduce legislation aimed at exempting the value of farm and small business assets on the FAFSA.
Later that day, Feenstra addressed concerns related to Iowa's turkey farmers affected by avian metapneumovirus. He tweeted: "Avian metapneumovirus is hurting Iowa’s turkey farmers and leaving turkey operations less profitable and more volatile." He mentioned working with his Iowa colleagues to urge the Farm Service Agency to provide immediate relief through the Livestock Indemnity Program.
In another tweet from March 5, Feenstra expressed his appreciation for local broadcasters after discussions with them. He said: "I enjoyed chatting with Iowa T.V. & radio broadcasters today about many important topics." He reaffirmed his support for the Local Radio Freedom Act and the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act, acknowledging their role in keeping communities informed.
