Randy Feenstra, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 4th district since 2021, recently shared several updates on his legislative and community activities via social media. Feenstra, who succeeded Steve King in office and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021, has been vocal about energy policies and local economic growth.
On March 18, 2025, Feenstra announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at evaluating the financial and environmental implications of transitioning the federal fleet to electric vehicles or E85 flex-fuel cars. "I just introduced the COST Act to ensure we consider the full financial and environmental costs of replacing the entire federal fleet with either EVs or #E85 flex fuel cars and trucks." He emphasized promoting domestic fuels over foreign alternatives such as Chinese batteries.
In another post on March 18, he acknowledged National Biodiesel Day alongside National Ag Day by expressing gratitude towards soybean farmers and biodiesel producers. "Thank you to our soybean farmers and biodiesel producers for all that you do to grow and make the fuel that powers our country and the world!" Feenstra highlighted homegrown fuels' role in sustaining American energy independence.
Later that day, during his ongoing #36CountyTour, Feenstra visited Sudenga Industries in George. He discussed topics related to domestic manufacturing with company representatives. "We discussed the importance of domestic manufacturing and the need to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to promote economic growth." The visit underscored his commitment to supporting local industries through legislative measures like tax incentives.
