Rep. Randy Feenstra, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, expressed his clear stance on various legislative matters in recent social media posts. Feenstra, who succeeded Steve King and has had a long career in public service, shared his thoughts on issues ranging from proxy voting to tax policy and agricultural legislation.
In a post on April 4, 2025, Feenstra criticized the practice of proxy voting, stating, "Democrats already abused proxy voting and we know the results. Members were phoning it in and doing the bare minimum. That’s not what our Founding Fathers envisioned. Iowans elected me to show up for work, not give my vote to someone else. I’ve never proxy voted & never will."
On the same day, Feenstra expressed gratitude towards his colleagues from Ohio for their support in co-sponsoring his legislative effort, the "Death Tax Repeal Act." In his tweet, he acknowledged them, saying, "I thank my colleagues from Ohio — @Jim_Jordan, @boblatta, @RepMaxMiller, @RepBalderson, @RepMichaelRulli, @RepDaveTaylor, @WarrenDavidson, @RepMikeTurner, @RepMikeCarey, and @RepDaveJoyce — for cosponsoring my Death Tax Repeal Act. Let's #AxeTheDeathTax on Ohioans and Iowans!"
Furthermore, Feenstra accentuated his urgency regarding the Farm Bill, emphasizing its significance to the agricultural community. In his tweet, Feenstra stated, "We must pass a new, five-year Farm Bill to deliver certainty and relief for our farmers and producers. When agriculture succeeds so do our businesses, families, and communities. An important step that we can take to support our farm producers is pass the Farm Bill ASAP!"
