Randy Feenstra, representing Iowa's 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, has recently shared his thoughts on various policy issues via social media. His comments touch upon agriculture exports, vehicle emission standards, and community services in his district.
On May 1, 2025, Feenstra addressed the issue of foreign animal disease outbreaks affecting local agricultural exports. In his tweet, he stated, "A foreign animal disease outbreak in one part of our country shouldn't impact Iowa's ability to export our ag goods. That's why I led the Safe American Food Exports Act to proactively negotiate agreements with our trading partners to prevent disruptions."
Later that same day, Feenstra voiced his opinion on a decision by the House GOP. He noted, "Today, @HouseGOP voted to overturn a Biden-era waiver that allowed California to move forward with its plan to ban gas-powered cars & mandate EVs. We don't want California's costly & ridiculous policies — which enrich China & hurt America — to spread to Iowa or any other state!"
Additionally, on May 2, 2025, Feenstra announced community services related to passport processing. He tweeted about upcoming passport fairs, informing constituents that "Our office is holding two passport fairs very soon — one in Council Bluffs on Tuesday May 13th and one in Sioux City on Wednesday May 14th. Both events will run from 9 AM - 4 PM. More information can be found in the story below! #IA04"
Feenstra, a Hull, Iowa native, has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Steve King. Prior to his congressional duties, Feenstra was a member of the Iowa Senate for over a decade. He holds a degree from Dordt University.
