On May 13, 2025, Feenstra announced his support for a congressional resolution honoring police officers. He emphasized the importance of their role in community safety by stating "I just voted for a congressional resolution thanking and honoring our police and law enforcement officers." He highlighted their daily sacrifices with "These heroes put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities and keep our families safe."
The following day, May 14, Feenstra addressed criticism directed at former President Trump's legislative initiative. In his tweet, he stated that "As expected, Democrats are lying about President Trump’s 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill.'" According to Feenstra, this bill aims to reduce taxes for various groups while supporting domestic manufacturing and job creation.

Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and graduated from Dordt University in 1991 with a BA. He currently resides in Hull.
