Randy Feenstra, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 4th District, shared his views and actions on recent events through a series of tweets. Feenstra, who has been in Congress since 2021 after replacing Steve King, expressed his thoughts on various issues affecting both national and local communities.

On May 22, 2025, Feenstra conveyed his sorrow regarding a tragic incident involving two staff members from the Embassy of Israel in Washington D.C. "I am horrified and devastated by the loss of Yaron and Sarah, two staff members of the Embassy of Israel in our nation's capital," he stated. He called for justice against those responsible for what he termed a "deadly attack" and condemned antisemitic hate.

Later that day, Feenstra thanked former President Donald Trump for approving a Presidential Disaster Declaration following severe storms that impacted several counties in Iowa. "Thank you to President Trump for approving a Presidential Disaster Declaration that I requested for Crawford, Harrison, Monona, and Woodbury Counties," he tweeted at 15:34 UTC. This declaration is expected to assist communities with infrastructure repairs necessary after the March storms.

In another tweet posted at 16:08 UTC on May 22nd, Feenstra highlighted his participation in ALS Awareness Month activities by speaking on the House Floor. He mentioned Lori Hermstad from Spencer who lost her daughters to ALS last year. "This week, I spoke on the House Floor in honor of ALS Awareness Month," he wrote while reaffirming his commitment to finding a cure for ALS.

Randy Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and graduated from Dordt University with a BA in 1991. Before serving as a U.S. Representative starting from 2021, he was part of the Iowa Senate from 2009 to that same year.
