Rep. Randy Feenstra, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 4th district since 2021, shared a series of tweets on May 23, 2025, addressing various issues ranging from immigration policies to energy prices and local development projects.
In his first tweet of the day, Feenstra criticized House Democrats for their stance on immigration benefits. He stated, "Every House Democrat voted to let illegal immigrants receive taxpayer-funded benefits. Those programs are for the most vulnerable Americans — not illegal immigrants."
Later that day, Feenstra commented on fuel prices as Iowans prepared for Memorial Day weekend travel. He attributed the low gas prices to former President Trump's policies by saying, "Thanks to President Trump’s America First energy policies, Iowans hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend will see the LOWEST GAS PRICES in years." He added that this was evidence of "The Trump effect in action!"
In another tweet later that evening, Feenstra expressed gratitude towards President Trump and Administrator Zeldin for financial support provided to Le Mars city redevelopment projects. He tweeted: "I thank President Trump and Administrator Zeldin for deploying $400,000 to the City of Le Mars to redevelop contaminated spaces into new and valuable assets." This initiative is aimed at strengthening rural communities within his district.
Randy Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and graduated from Dordt University with a BA in 1991. Before joining Congress in 2021, he served in the Iowa Senate from 2009.
