IOWA LAKES ANNOUNCES 23RD ANNUAL ELIZABETHAN MADRIGAL FEAST

IOWA LAKES ANNOUNCES 23RD ANNUAL ELIZABETHAN MADRIGAL FEAST

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The Music Department at Iowa Lakes Community College announces the 23rd Annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste. This year’s festivities will be held at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in Estherville on December 2 and 3 at 6 pm. Ticket sales begin November 4, 2022.

The Elizabeth Madrigal Feaste pays tribute to the Christmas Feaste, an annual celebration in early England, showcasing an extravagant display of rejoicing and toasting the 12 days of Christmas.

Hilarious comedic entertainment and the beautiful sounds of the season performed by the Iowa Lakes Chamber Choir will accompany a delicious four-course meal at the 23rd Annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste. The dinner will recreate memorable English traditions, including the procession of the boar’s head, the jester’s hijinks, strolling carolers, Wassail toasts, flaming pudding, and a special royal dessert. Performers will wear renaissance costumes. Guests are welcome to wear costumes, but they are optional.

Tickets are $20 per person, with limited seating available. Tickets can be reserved and purchased at iowa-lakes.ticketleap.com/madrigal or by calling 712.362.7963. Reservations must be received in the Music Department and paid in full by November 28 via cash, check (payable to Iowa Lakes Music Department), or credit card.

Start your holiday season by celebrating the true meaning of Christmas in renaissance style!
