The Iowa Lakes Community College Athletics program welcomes Jack Brashear as he steps up to lead the Lakers Golf team. Brashear will be the Interim Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach for the upcoming season.
“We’re excited to have Jack as our Interim Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Having played at Iowa Lakes, Jack understands Iowa Lakes and junior college golf. He has great knowledge of golf to share with our student-athletes. We have a strong returning group of students while adding some great new golfers, and Jack already has a solid relationship with the group. I’m confident he will do a good job coaching them up,” said Athletic Director Troy Larson.
An Estherville native, Brashear graduated from Estherville Lincoln Central (ELC) in 2016 and played junior college golf at Iowa Lakes. Currently, he sells insurance for Farm Bureau Financial Services in Emmet County and bartends part-time at his family’s bar, Mac’s Top Hat.
Brashear is an avid outdoorsman in his free time, who enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play whenever possible.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to come back to Iowa Lakes and help with the golf program. I enjoyed my time playing competitively on the Lakers team and had a great experience. Thank you, Troy and the Iowa Lakes administration, for the opportunity,” shared Brashear.
