Randy Feenstra calls for action on navigation aids and defense program

Rep. Randy Feenstra, a U.S. Congressman representing Iowa's 4th District since 2021, recently addressed several issues through social media posts on December 9, 2024. These tweets cover a range of topics from local infrastructure to national ideological trends.

In his first post, "Alongside 8 of my colleagues and 53 supporting organizations, businesses, and local leaders, I am calling on the U.S. Coast Guard to keep 36 Aids to Navigation (ATONs) in place on the Missouri River north of Blencoe. Our economy depends on it." This tweet underscores Feenstra's efforts with various stakeholders to maintain crucial navigational aids vital for economic activity along the Missouri River.

Later that day, Feenstra highlighted military infrastructure initiatives in another post: "The 185th is currently spearheading projects to strengthen runway & ramp resilience so that the KC-135s can take off and land more efficiently & safely. I’m leading the charge to request that these projects be included in the Future Years Defense Program." The congressman emphasized his advocacy for including these projects in future defense planning to enhance operational capabilities.

In a third tweet posted later that afternoon, Feenstra expressed concern over recent survey findings regarding American youth's views on communism: "Nearly 1/3 of America’s youth hold a favorable opinion of communism and nearly 20% believe communism is better than capitalism. These alarming findings cannot be the norm for future generations of Americans if we want our country to succeed and prosper." He highlighted what he perceives as a worrying trend among young Americans' ideological beliefs.
